Our Story
For over sixty years, the Vaccari Family has been welcoming guests with warmth and dedication, offering a stay experience that blends tradition, wellness, and innovation.
The beginnings: Pensione Fra i Pini
Our story began in 1960, when Venco Lucinda and Vaccari Adelino opened the Pensione Fra i Pini in Via Giardini 16, one of the very first tourist accommodations in Pineta.
It was a modest one-star guesthouse, with simple yet cozy rooms, designed for those who longed for a quiet holiday surrounded by nature.
Despite its simplicity, the family atmosphere and privileged location — just a short walk from the sea and immersed in greenery — immediately won the hearts of the first Italian and international visitors.
Expansion and the first major renovation
A modern hotel in the heart of Pineta
1990 marked another milestone: the hotel underwent a complete renovation. Rooms became larger and more comfortable, while the reception and restaurant were redesigned with an elegant, contemporary style. The garden was enriched with new spaces dedicated to relaxation.
Hotel Fra i Pini became a landmark for those seeking a holiday that combined nature with comfort.
The birth of wellness and the Dependance
In 2004, the Dependance was built, and new services were introduced, transforming every stay into a total wellness experience.
The swimming pool with whirlpools and the Wellness Center with sauna, Turkish bath, and relaxation paths became the true highlights of the holiday, offering guests moments of pure pleasure and regeneration.
Sports, events, and major partnerships
Over the years, Fra i Pini has established important partnerships, such as with the Lignano Golf Club, becoming a reference point for golf enthusiasts.
Since 2006, the hotel has also proudly hosted the Jamaican National Athletics Team, which trains every year at the Teghil Stadium in preparation for major international competitions.
A sustainable future
In 2020, the hotel took a decisive step towards sustainability: two photovoltaic systems (34.5 kWp and 50 kWp), three 40 kW storage batteries, and a heat pump to keep the pool water heated up to 30°C were installed.
Thanks to these innovations, fossil fuels were completely eliminated, transforming the hotel into a fully eco-sustainable property, ready to face the future.
Today
Today, Hotel & Wellness Fra i Pini represents a perfect blend of tradition and innovation. Led by the third generation — Marco and Federico — the hotel continues to grow while preserving what has always made it unique: a family welcome, genuine hospitality, and attention to detail.
